BEREA,Ohio--What a difference a year makes. Just a year ago Terrelle Pryor was trying to switch from being a quarterback to wide receiver on the fly. Hue Jackson said he's done so.
"He's made the transition from quarterback to receiver," Jackson said after the first practice in pads. "But I think he's done an outstanding job and now we've moved him from one side as a receiver to the other and he's in another transition as a receiver. I'm very proud of what he's done, but we've had just three practices and we all have to continue to grow."
Pryor and Robert Griffin III teamed up for the play of the day Sunday as Pryor was able to get behind Jamar Taylor and make a diving catch about 45 yards down field. After the play, Pryor jumped up and spiked the ball to the delight of the fans.
Air Raid: Jackson has surprise air raid type sirens going off from time to time during practice and immediately all drills become live. He said they are unscripted as to the players don't know when they will occur.
Fullback Hurt: FB Malcolm Johnson left the field with trainers and is in the concussion protocol according to Jackson. DL Dylan Wynn left the field with an ankle injury, while DB Trey Caldwell injured his hamstring.
On the Side: Still being held out of practice were: OL John Greco, DB Joe Haden (ankle), WR Josh Gordon (quad), LB Jefferson Jeffcoat and OL Conor Bofelli and TE Seth DeValve.
