Browns WR Ranell Hall is out for the season with a broken fibula and QB Austin Davis was placed in the NFL's concussion protocol

Cleveland Browns WR Rannell Hall is out for the season with a broken leg and QB Austin Davis was placed in the NFL's concussion protocol.

CLEVELAND-- The Browns went generally unscathed in their first preseason game, with the exception of one season-ending injury.

After leaving Friday's game in Green Bay, WR Rannell Hall will miss the entirety of the 2016 season with a broken fibula, according to head coach Hue Jackson.

Jackson also indicated that QB Austin Davis will be placed in the NFL's concussion protocol, after he too left the game against the Packers.

Hall, 23, was acquired by the Browns on Dec. 14, 2015 after spending most of the season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' practice squad.

The UCF product played in one game for Cleveland, but did not record a catch.

Davis was signed by the Browns on Sept. 7, 2015 after he was released by the Rams on Sept. 5.

The 27-year-old appeared in three games for Cleveland, including two starts in which he completed 56 of his 94 pass attempts for 547 yards and a touchdown.
