CLEVELAND--The bad news is the Browns are down receivers.
The good news is at least two should be ready for the Browns third preseason game in Tampa Bay next Friday.
However, five wide receivers were inactive out of the 12 players that sat out of preseason game two against the Atlanta Falcons.
Top pick Corey Coleman (hamstring) has been practicing in team drills this week, but the decision was made to hold him out of the game. Josh Gordon (quad) also returned to practice this past week, but only practicing once in full team drills., Both are expected to practice and play next week. Besides Coleman and Gordon, Andrew Hawkins (hamstring), Ricardo Louis (hamstring) and Dennis Parks (knee) were idle, as well.
The active receivers will be Terrelle Pryor and likely Taylor Gabriel starting, with Rashard Higgins, Jordan Payton, Marlon Moore, Darius Jennings and Ed Eagan in reserve roles.
In addition to the receivers being out, Joe Thomas (back) was held out and Joe Haden (ankle) was, as well.
The rest of the inactives were: QB Austin Davis (concussion), DB Trey Caldwell (hamstring), DL John Hughes III (scheduled to return to practice on Sunday), DL Nile Lawrence-Stample (shoulder), and RB Glenn Winston (shoulder).
