The Browns released Paul Kruger in a roster cut from 90 to 76

Veteran DE Paul Kruger was the most notable player cut in Cleveland's roster trim from 90 to 76.

CLEVELAND-- Much like his hair this offseason, Paul Kruger has been cut.

After a slow preseason with the Browns, the veteran defensive lineman was one of 14 players cut by the team on Monday morning.

Amongst the others released include:

  • DL Nick Hayden
  • QB Austin Davis
  • K Travis Coons
  • TE E.J. Bibbs
  • DB Sean Baker
  • WR Josh Boyce
  • WR Ed Eagen
  • FB Robert Hughes
  • TE David Reeves
  • OL Cory Tucker

While they weren't cut, DL Nile Lawrence-Stample (shoulder) and RB Glenn Winston (shoulder) were placed on the injured reserve list, leaving the Browns with 76 players on the active roster.

Kruger, 30, becomes the second Browns' veteran pass rusher to leave the team during Training Camp, as Barkevious Mingo was recently traded to the New England Patriots.

The veteran had just 2.5 sacks in the 2015 season and failed to record a sack amidst this preseason.
