BEREA, Ohio--Hue Jackson said the Browns would be active after roster cuts were made on Saturday--and they were.
“I think (we) will be because if we see an opportunity to better our football team, we will as we have done," Hue Jackson said Friday. "We have tried to do anything and everything we can to strengthen our team and get a little bit better here and there. We will continue to do so.”
The Browns claimed running back George Atkinson, defensive back Brian Boddy-Calhoun, defensive back Marcus Burley, defensive end Tyrone Holmes and linebacker Corey Lemonier. To make room on the roster, the team waived DB Trey Caldwell, LB Cam Johnson, RB Raheem Mostert and RB Terrell Watson and terminated the contract of DB Rahim Moore Sr.
Caldwell was the only draft pick that has been released by the Browns thus far, but if he isn't claimed in waivers, will likely be added to the practice squad.
Here are capsules of the players signed.
