Cody Kessler was taken to the locker room and ruled out for the game with a concussion

CINCINNATI--Cody Kessler jogged to the locker room to be evaluated for a concussion in the second quarter after being leveled by Carlos Dunlap and Domato Peko. Kessler's head hit Peko's elbow as he was going to the ground.

That was the last of Kessler for the game as he was declared out at halftime with a concussion.

On the play, Kessler shoveled a pass to Gary Barnidge with 7:27 to play in the first half that was good for a 15-yard pass and a first down that set up a Browns one-yard touchdown run by Isaiah Crowell.

Kessler was 9-of-11 for 82 yards and a rating of 97.7.

Rookie Kevin Hogan has replaced Kessler. Hogan is playing in his first NFL game. He came in before Kessler was hurt and ran two read option plays for 15 yards each. Hogan was 2-of-4 for 25 yards passing, but had four rushes for 44 yards and a rating of 69.8.
