BEREA, Ohio--It's a start!
After seeing many former Ohio State Buckeyes star on other NFL teams this past season, the Browns hope they signed one on Monday that will star for them.
The Browns announced that they have claimed defensive back Tyvis Powell via waivers from Seattle.
Powell (6-2, 211) is entering his second NFL season out of Ohio State. Originally signed by Seattle as an undrafted free agent last year, Powell spent the entire regular season on the Seahawks’ active roster and appeared in eight games.
Powell logged three special-teams tackles.
Powell appeared in 42 games with the Buckeyes and led the team in interceptions during his final season. Powell is a native of Bedford, Ohio.
