The Browns have been criticized for letting their young, core players leaves after their first contracts.
They're trying to making sure that doesn't happen.
ESPN reported that the Browns are signing offensive lineman Joel Bitonio to a "monster" extension. Bitonio's rookie contract doesn't run out until after the 2017 season, but the Browns don't want to take the chance that Bitonio leaves after next season.
