Browns release Tyvis Powell

The Browns cut former Buckeyes safety Tyvis Powell

BEREA, Ohio-- We hardly knew you you, Tyvis.

The Browns announced on Friday that they have have waived DB Tyvis Powell.

Powell joined the team this year via waivers on Feb 6. He appeared in eight games as rookie with Seattle last season.

Powell played collegiately at Ohio State and was an undrafted free agent. No reason was given by the Browns, but the addition of Calvin Pryor, Jabrill Peppers and Jason McCourty might have made Powell expendable in Gregg Williams scheme.
