UPDATE 10/29 NOON
The team has issued this official statement from Carmen Policy:
"We have been made aware of legal proceedings that are pending against William Green. Our team policy dictates that we handle all incidents involving our players within the organization on an individual basis. William is represented by counsel, and we have been assured that we will be kept advised throughout these proceedings. We will work in conjunction with the National Football League to monitor this matter closely."
According to published reports, Browns RB William Green was arrested last night for Driving Under Intoxication (DUI) and will appear in a Cleveland court this afternoon.
A published report from NewsNet5 this morning states that Green was arrested in Westlake after a motorist contacted police and the Browns running back was observed driving erratically. This same report offers that Green did not submit to a sobriety test at the time.
Green has been running behind an injury-plagued offensive line this season, but had two consecutive 100-yard games against the Steelers and Raiders. He did not play against the Patriots due to a shoulder injury.
A report from the AP added that a bag of marijuana was also found in the car.
