It is time for a display of Dawg Power.
For the last several years, Campbell's Soup has had a effort called "Click for Cans", where NFL fans are asked to go to a page on their web site and click their team's helmet. For each click, Campbells will donate a can of soup to one of hundreds of food banks across the country. They will donate up to five million cans of soup of they get enough clicks. If they get five million clicks, they donate five million cans. If they get less, they donate less.
What makes the effort fun (and, admittedly a nice promotional gimmick), is that Campbell's has fans compete to see which group can donate the most of their cans of soup by clicking away.
Right now, the Browns are fourth - FOURTH - in the list of contributed cans.
Yeah, we expect that we would pummel the Bungles, Ratbirds and Steeler fans, but right now we're being topped by the Packers, Vikings, and Chiefs. The Packers I can kind of understand (kinda), but the VIKINGS??!?. The CHIEFS??!? Fuhgeddaboutit.
There aren't that many times where you can simply go to a web page, participate in a worthwhile cause, spend nothing, and demonstrate the power of Dawg Nation to an unsuspecting world.
All you have to do is click the Browns helmet logo, enter a code that appears in a little graphic, and click the button. It's way too easy.
