Terrell Browden Scouting Report

Here are Tony Pauline's thoughts on the Browns newly-signed tight end...

Name  Terrell Browden
School  Southern Mississippi
Year  4Sr
Ht  6-2.5
Wt  260
40  4.85
Pos  TE

Bio: Second team All-Conference selection as a senior after posting a career high 13 receptions for 144 yards with 1 score. Used mainly as a blocker the prior two seasons and had 4 catches during each campaign.

Positives: Nice sized tight end that had a breakout senior season of sorts. As a pass catcher he is a disciplined route runner that uses his frame to shield away opponents and makes the tough catch. Displays soft hands and the ability to pluck the pass out of the air. Strong at the point and very effective blocking for the run.

Negatives: Lacks the fluid release off the line of scrimmage, stiff and does not play with great balance. Lacks the deep speed as a pass catcher. Not quick into blocks and readies himself into defenders, losing an edge.

Analysis: After being a career backup for two seasons, Browden made his mark as a senior. Though he did not have a lights out campaign, still did enough to warrant draft consideration in the late rounds or at least a serious look in camp.
