Despite some signs of life in the second half, the Browns offensive ineffectiveness doomed them to their second straight loss 27-10, to the New York Giants.
Held scoreless until the fourth quarter, the Browns found themselves down 17-3 before finally breaking onto the scoreboard early in the fourth quarter due to a 49-yard Phil Dawson field goal.
Earlier in the game, however, the Browns looked inept on offense, as the squad's offense was able to create only one first down until 13:12 in the second quarter. Meanwhile, the Giants Kurt Warner was able to pick on the Browns secondary, which was missing Anthony Henry, for nearly 300 yards in the air.
Playing conservatively, the Giants defense did provide opportunities for the Browns in the second half, Jeff Garcia responded by bouncing back to get nearly 200 yards in the air, while William Green looked effective when given some space to run, racking up 91 yards on 15 attempts.
