The Redskins might be without two of their top three safeties for Sunday's game at Cleveland. Starting strong safety Matt Bowen (groin) and backup free safety Andre Lott (hamstring) both were listed as questionable and did not practice. Redskins coach Joe Gibbs said he was concerned about Bowen's ability to play Sunday.
Also, returner Chad Morton (knee) was limited today and is listed as questionable. He has been walking around Redskins Park gingerly. He would be replaced by James Thrash on punt returns and Ladell Betts would join Thrash on kick returns.
Linebacker Mike Barrow also is questionable because of his knee. Unlike previous weeks, he didn't put on pads for today's workout.
Linebacker Antonio Pierce did not practice, but the Redskins say he's just resting a foot injury and is listed as probable.
Receivers coach Stan Hixon returned to work today. He has missed the first three games to be with his son, Drew, who remains in a coma at a Tampa hospital. But Drew Hixon, according to the Redskins, has made progress and is now opening his eyes. The Redskins are looking into moving him to a trauma center in Virginia.
