Cleveland January – The Cleveland Chapter of NFL Alumni Association
announce their 1st annual "United in Need" benefit. "United
in Need" is a fundraising vehicle to develop the Cleveland Chapter's
Dire Need Fund that will be used to assist members who are facing financial
challenges due to illness. Eddie Johnson will be the recipient of all
proceeds from the 2002 event to assist him with medical cost in association
with his battle with Colon Cancer.
"United in Need"
will be held Saturday, February 9, 2002 at 7:00pm at Thistledown Racing Club,
21501 Emery Road, North Randall, Ohio. The event will feature a roast &
toast, auction and dinner with speakers such as Brown's greats Hanford
Dixon, Reggie Langorne, Gerald "Ice Cube" McNeil and Greg Pruitt.
The Master of Ceremony will be Kendall "BSK" Lewis of WKNR. Reggie
Rucker will serve as the auctioneer.
Tickets are available
for $150 per person and will go on sale Monday, January 21. In
