The Clock Ticks Down

Join us in the forums and in the chat room!!

Here are the key links for the final hours leading up to the draft. BerniesInsiders.com will have the disturbingly obsessive coverage you expect. Today is the day. This is the place.

As the clock ticks down to the Browns selection in the 2005 NFL Draft, no one - not even Randy Lerner or Phil Savage - could tell you what name the Browns will be calling shortly after the draft begins. Phone lines continue to ring, teams continue to posture, and no one story could capture all the late breaking news.

Here are key links we suggest you use as the draft gets underway:

1. The Bernies Insiders homepage

We will be reacting quickly to any news coming out of the NFL draft. Between our people in Berea, Scout.com's experts in New York City at the draft itself, and Lane and Barry with the gang at Bunkers, we have the folks in place to respond quickly when any news breaks. We will be hitting the web with quick stories, scouting reports on players selected, video, and reaction.

2. The Watercooler, the Chat Room, The.Raw.Feed, and The Tipline

Any news breaking on the web outside of Bernie's Insiders generally shows up on these sources within minutes. Fans in the Cooler and Chat Room have proven amazingly quick at bringing new info to the attention of their friends, and The.Raw.Feed scans the internet every 15 minutes for updated Browns stories. The Tipline is effective at bringing all sort of information to Browns fans.

3. Ask the Insiders

This is typically the first place that we go if we get ahold of something that isn't anywhere else on the 'net. It is the fastest way for us to let subscribers know what's going on.

4. Mock Draft Leaderboard

We will have live scoring of the Mock Draft Contest and expert mock drafts as the first round goes on. This is a new feature this year, and will list the top expert and fan mock drafts as the selections are made in the first round.

5. NFLDraft Coverage at Yahoo

Our friends at Yahoo! have taken the draft coverage from Scout.com and Bernie's Insiders and added to it their own capabilities, such as video, to create a page that will help you if you're interested in what else is going on around the league.

6. The Hot News listing

The full Hot News listing typically updates about 10 minutes before the hot news items update at the top of each page. Scout.com will have dedicated staff updating the Hot News for every NFL team - including the Browns - throughout the day.

7. Sports Talk Cleveland radio feed

Our friends at SportsTalkCleveland will have a live radio feed all day focusing on the Browns. Lane Adkins and I will be calling in to STC throughout the day, and you may hear some of your other friends from the forums giving their opinions on how the Browns are doing.

It's going to be fun! Talk to you soon!

- Barry
