Media watchers sat with mouths agape at their computer screens this morning as the Newswire demonstrates that respectable journalists have descended into rumor-mongering during the days before March 1. Leading the pack is the Trenton Times, which manages to turn KJ's friendship with Donovan McNabb and his contract status into a 14-point headline.
When it comes down to it, I have so much to learn... I'm still a piker, mongering-wise. That so little could be turned into so much, so effortlessly, just leaves me an empty shell of the rumor-mongerer I thought I was.
Meanwhile, Tony Grossi manages to suggest that Ricky Williams is heading into the bargain bin despite yesterday's story from the AP that the Dolphins offered a #1 and #3 for a #2 and Williams. If Grossi is on-target, the Saints would have lept for that deal.... unless, of course, the AP story has a high nonsense quotient. This all leaves me confused, but I'll admit to being easily disoriented.
Also confusing to me is the rumor from Sportsking that states that the Browns will immediately sign two free agents. The Akron Beacon-Journal, on the other hand, states that the Browns will likely not do anything for the first couple of days of free agency, since the Indy combines are going at the same time.
I couldn't figure any of this out, but I'll point you to the Newswire where you can read the latest offerings from all the Cleveland media. I'm going to take some aspirin.
