Mock Draft Week: Greg Hensley's Mega-Mock

Even though his publisher is on record as brandishing any mock draft that proceeds beyond the first round to be "utter lunacy", Greg Hensley bravely pushes the borders of sanity with a full seven-round mega-mock, complete with some interesting sleepers for the Browns in the later rounds. Check it out...

1 Houston selects: Reggie Bush RB USC
The highest paid scat back in the history of the NFL.

2 New Orleans selects: D'Brickashaw Ferguson OT Virginia
Is there a worse run blocking tackle in this draft? He needs to get a lot stronger if he wants to make it in this league and I don't even want to get into what Tapp and Anderson did to this kid.

3 Tennessee selects: Jay Cutler QB Vanderbilt
The Titans keep working out quarterbacks but after a week with Cutler at the senior bowl and 4 visits, Fisher has seen to many flaws with Leinart and Young. Plus when you keep finishing at the bottom, drafting the local favorite always sells tickets and fans aren't yelling for the coaches head.

4 New York Jets select: Matt Leinart QB USC
Shoulder surgeries and weak arms seem to be what the Jets look for in quarterbacks.

5 Green Bay selects: Mario Williams DE North Carolina State
Green Bay just drafted the best player in the draft. Lets hope the rest of the Packers defenders doesn't rub off on him.

6 San Francisco selects: Vernon Davis TE Maryland
When you invest the #1 overall pick on a quarterback, its a good idea to give him some weapons.

7 Oakland selects: Haloti Ngata DT Oregon
Art Shell is going to run the 3-4 and Ngata can be that run stuffing force in the middle.

8 Buffalo selects: Winston Justice OT USC
Adding a beast to this line will help McGahee but there is no help for this offense when you look at the depth chart at quarterback.

9 Detroit selects: AJ Hawk LB OSU
Detroit finds themselves in a great situation to rip off the Browns once again.

10 Arizona selects: Vince Young QB Texas
Just imagine for a moment that Vince Young plays at that Rose Bowl level in the desert. Now imagine him handing the ball off to Edge and throwing to this phenomenal receiving core. Now come back down to earth and look at this offensive line.

11 St. Louis selects: Michael Huff S Texas
Sean Taylor without the gunfire and spittle.

12 Cleveland selects: Brodrick Bunkley DT FSU
Brodrick is a tank with arms. The combination of Roye, Washington and Bunkley might actually scare teams enough to throw the ball this year.

13 Baltimore selects: Jimmy Williams CB/S VT
Chris McAlister, Ed Reed, Jimmy Williams, Samari Rolle enough said.

14 Philadelphia selects: Ernie Sims LB FSU
The Eagles will have a difficult choice between Ernie Sims and Chad Jackson but Ernie was made for the 46 Defense.

15 Denver selects: Chad Jackson WR Florida
Chad may be the only true #1 receiver in this draft.

16 Miami selects: Santonio Holmes WR OSU
Holmes speed will be a tremendous addition to this offense and a perfect compliment to Chambers.

17 Minnesota selects: DeAngelo Williams RB Memphis
DeAngelo will be a star in this league. Vikings fans do your happy dance.

18 Dallas selects: Manny Lawson DE/LB NCST
Lawson is a late second rounder on my draft board but the Cowboys are completely sold except for the fact that they could still take Wimbley.

19 San Diego selects
Jonathon Joseph CB South Carolina: San Diego is addicted to first round corners but this one will actually make plays.

20 Kansas City selects: Tye Hill CB Clemson
As close as you get to a pure cover corner in this draft class.

21 New England selects: Kameron Wimbley LB/DE FSU
After losing McGinest the Pats reload with the top tweener prospect.

22 Denver selects: Leonard Pope TE Georgia
Pope's run blocking is improving but he adds a big play threat to the tight end position.

23 Tampa Bay selects: Marcus McNeil OT Auburn
A Cadillac runs a lot better when there is actual running lanes.

24 Cincinnati selects: Donte Whitner S OSU
A unique playmaking addition to this thieving secondary.

25 NY Giants select: Antonio Cromatie CB FSU
Antonio is the big corner everyone is looking for everyone is looking for.

26 Chicago selects:Mercedes Lewis TE UCLA
Mercedes improves every time he steps onto the field and the sky is the limit. I believe he is a tremendous steal at 26.

27 Carolina selects: Laurence Maroney RB Minn
The rich get richer.

28 Jacksonville selects: Ashton Youboty CB OSU
Instant starter in Jacksonville and a very good 1-2 punch at corner with Rashean Mathis

29 NY Jets select: Eric Winston OT Miami
Why didn't teams learn their lessons with short armed left tackles with Robert Gallery?

30 Indianapolis selects: Joseph Addai RB LSU
The perfect running back for this offense.

31 Seattle selects: Tamba Hali DE Penn St
Everyone is screaming that Seattle takes a guard but if anyone has forgotten their backups in Seattle always own opposing teams starting defense. Tamba may not have looked good at his pro day but he is an amazing talent.

32 Pittsburgh selects: Daniel Bullocks S Nebraska
The Steelers will take a look at LenDale White but his attitude simply isn't welcomed in the Steelers locker room. Cowher likes the sure thing and Daniel is a sure thing at safety.

ROUND TWO

33 Houston selects: Daryn Colledge OT Boise St.

34 New Orleans selects:Nick Mangold C OSU

35 New York Jets select: Mathias Kiwanuka DE Boston College

36 Green Bay selects: Davin Joseph OG Okla

37 San Francisco selects: LenDale White RB USC

38 Oakland selects: Ko Simpson S South Carolina

39 Tennessee selects: Demeco Ryans LB Alabama

40 Detroit selects: Max Jean-Gilles OG Georgia

41 Arizona selects: Chad Greenway LB Iowa

42 Buffalo selects: Gabe Watson DT Michigan

43 Cleveland selects: Bobby Carpenter LB OSU
Linebackers fall and if Carpenter goes higher than this he may be the first college player to ever increase his stock while on crutches. Linebackers fall and Bobby should fall into the Browns lap.

44 Baltimore selects: Ryan O'Callagan OT Cal.

45 Philadelphia selects: Sinorice Moss WR Miami

46 St. Louis selects: Anthony Fasano TE Nortre Dame

47 Atlanta selects: Andrew Whitworth OT LSU

71 New York Jets select: Alan Zemaitis CB Penn St.

72 Arizona selects: Jon Alston LB/S Stanford

73 Buffalo selects: Demario Minter CB Georgia

74 Detroit selects: Chris Chester C Oklahoma

75 New England selects: Jeremy Trueblood OT Boston College

76 Philadelphia selects: Jonathon Lewis DT VT

77 St. Louis selects: Dusty Dvoracek DT Okla.

78 Cleveland selects: Charles Spencer OG Pitt
The Browns seem to be one of very few teams that are high on Charles due to the fact that he is still learning the position but even as he learns, he is still and upgrade for the Browns.

79 Atlanta selects: Greg Blue S Georgia

80 Dallas selects: Todd Watkins WR BYU

81 San Diego selects: Jon Scott OT Texas

82 Miami selects: Devin Hester CB Miami

83 Minnesota selects: Greg Eslinger C Minn.

100 San Francisco selects: Babatunde Oshinowo DT Stanford

101 Oakland selects: Mike Bell RB Arizona

102 Tennessee selects: Dee Web CB Florida

103 New York Jets  select: Darrel Hunter CB Miami (OH)

104 Green Bay selects: Mike Hass WR Oregon

105 Buffalo selects: Charlie Whitehurst QB Clemson

106 New England selects: Cedric Griffin CB Miami

107 Arizona selects: Kyle Williams DT LSU

108 Philadelphia selects: Bernard Pollard S Purdue

109 St. Louis selects: Danieal Manning CB Abilene Christian

110 Cleveland selects: Montavious Stanley DT Louisville
The Browns get their nose tackle of the future. Stanley is an underrated beast in the middle.

111 Baltimore selects: Rodrique Wright DT Texas

112 Cleveland selects: Elvis Dumervil DE Louisville
Romeo has often said he doesn't care how a guy looks but how he plays. This pick will definitely test that theory. How can the Browns pass on a player that had more sacks than the Browns had as a team? An interesting player to develop behind McGinest and at worst you spent a 4th on a situational pass rusher.

113 San Diego selects: Eric Henderson DE GT

114 Miami selects: Omar Jacobs QB Bowling Green

115 Minnesota selects: Barry Cofield DE Northwestern

116 Philadelphia selects: Jason Spitz OG Louisville

117 New York Jets select: Jhari Evans OT/OG Bloomsburg

118 New England selects: Will Blackmon CB/WR Boston College

119 Denver selects: Charles Gordon CB Kansas

132 Baltimore selects: Joe Toledo OT/OG Washington

133 Pittsburgh selects: Lawrence Vickers FB/RB Colorado

ROUND FIVE

134 Houston selects: Freddie Roach LB Alabama

135 New Orleans selects: Dwayne Slay S Texas Tech

136 New England selects: Kai Parham LB Virginia

137 Tennessee selects: Anthony Mix TE/WR Auburn

139 Green Bay selects: Ryan Cook C/OG New Mex.

142 Arizona selects: Brad Butler OT Virginia

143 Buffalo selects: Brandon Williams WR Wisconsin

144 St. Louis selects: Rashad Butler OT Miami

145 Cleveland selects: Brandon Marshall WR Central Florida
I am not sure if the secret is out on Brandon Marshall but if he falls this far the Browns get a player that will compete for a starting position in year two. Physically imposing player that can take over games.

146 Baltimore selects: Julian Jenkins DE Stanford

147 Philadelphia selects: DonTrell Moore RB New Mex.

148 Atlanta selects: Tim Dobbins LB Iowa St.

149 Minnesota selects: Marcus Maxey CB Miami

150 Dallas selects: Mike Degory C/OG Florida

151 San Diego selects: Steve Fifita DT Utah

152 Cleveland selects: Vincent Meeks S Texas Tech
Everyone has given up on this kid because he doesn't run fast in shorts. He isn't a track guy but a football player. At worst he is someone that can play in nickel and dime coverage without making mistakes. At best you get a heck of a smart football player that does a great job of breaking down opposing offenses and always finds himself around the ball.

153 Washington selects: Anthony Schlegel LB OSU

154 Kansas City selects: Antonie Bethea S Howard

155 Carolina selects: Tim Jennings CB Georgia

156 Tampa Bay Anthony Smith S Syracuse

177 Arizona selects: Donald Peen OT Utah State

178 Buffalo selects: Marvin Phillip C California

179 Detroit selects: Owen Daniels TE Wisconsin

180 Cleveland selects: Troy Reddick OT/OG Auburn
Troy wont be able to play tackle at the next level but with his size, power and mobility he could make an interesting prospect at RG - that is, if the Browns have given up on the Dunn project.

181 Baltimore selects: Tim McGarigle LB Northwestern

182 Dallas selects: Rob Ninkovich DE Purdue

183 St. Louis selects: Gerrick McPhearson CB Maryland

184 Atlanta selects: Titus Adams DT Nebraska

219 Baltimore selects: Moe Thompson DE South Carolina

220 Philadelphia selects: Drew Olson QB UCLA

221 St. Louis selects: Ryan Plackemeier P Wake Forest

222 Cleveland selects: Valentine Chude LB W. New. Mex:
Here is where scowering the ends of the universe really pays off. Land a pick here and everyone is a believer, blow it and no one cares. Valentine is a huge inside backer that is the kind of project that Chaun was. Secret is this is where you take those kinds of projects. This kid is a huge sleeper that is being pimped hard by his coaches as an NFL prospect.

223 Atlanta selects: Troy Bergeron WR Georgia Force (AFL)

224 Dallas selects: Jason Carter WR Texas A&M

225 San Diego selects: Oliver Hoyte LB NCST
