The Browns interest in this small-school prospect points to the team looking at possible later-round bargains. Their interest may also be due to Bethea's reputation as a good run-stopper, a priority under Crennel and Savage.

While Bethea lacks strong cover abilities, particularly in man-to-man coverage, he's got a nose for the ball, and is solid in zone coverage. If he is picked up and makes the Browns, it will be partially because his 4.44 speed gives him an opportunity to make a difference on return coverage units.
