Camp Notes: Tucker Returns

Fred Greetham provides notes on the Browns Saturday practice: Ryan Tucker returns to Berea, Dinkins gets dinged, roster moves, and more...

OT Ryan Tucker was on the practice field with his jersey on but did not participate in practice in the morning. His left knee was in a brace.
"We're going to rest his knee and give it a chance to settle down," Crennel said. "He's got a little wear on the knee and we're going to let him rest before we put him out there."
Crennel said some of the cartilage showed some wear on the MRI, but there has been no talk of surgery at this point according to Crennel. Nat Dorsey, Kirk Chambers and John Dunn would be the three potential candidates to replace Tucker. Dorsey has been working at left tackle primarily thus far.
Dinkins Dinged: TE Darnell Dinkins was on the ground for a moment, but was able to return to practice. He was hit in the eye, but should be fine.
Highlight Reel: QB Charlie Frye hit on a long touchdown pass to WR Dennis Northcutt much to the delight of a nice crowd during 11-on-11 drills. Northcutt took the ball to some of the fans in the crowd.
"We've been working on the long ball and it felt good to hit on that," Frye said. "We've thrown more long balls thus far in the practice than we did at this time last year by far."
Gimme a Break: TE Kellen Winslow was given a lighter practice load according to Crennel.
"He's been going at it pretty hard the last couple of days," he said. "We wanted to give him a break from some of the drills today. We'll do that from time to time."
Crennel said Winslow might practice Saturday afternoon.
Edwards Update: Crennel said Edwards is getting better. He was again on the field catching passes and doing some light running.
"The doctors look at him every day," Crennel said. "He's making progress and when the doctors say he is ready, we'll start bringing him along."
So Long: The Browns waived WR Steve Sanders to make room for WR Travis Wilson. Sanders went to East High in Cleveland and played at Bowling Green.
