BEREA - The Browns had hoped to have William Green back on the practice field Tuesday morning. Unfortunately, a problem with the results of Green's MRI pushed back Green's return.
According to team spokesman, there was a technicality with the results of an MRI performed on Green's shoulder Monday at the Cleveland clinic. The results did not arrive in Berea until 8 a.m. today. With the results arriving shortly before the start of the morning practice, the Browns held Green out.
Green was in pads Monday morning, participating only in non-contact drills. The rookie running back did not make an appearance Tuesday morning.
The Browns had hoped to have an MRI on Green's shoulder Sunday, allowing him to get a full week of work in preparation for Saturday's preseason opener Saturday in Minnesota. This has to be extremely frustrating for a Browns coaching staff that has watched its first-round pick participate in less than a week of training camp.
Results of the MRI will be released this afternoon.
