Fred Greetham's Notebook & Instant Analysis

Déjà vu: QB Charlie Frye's interception in the end zone by Asomugha was eerily similar to last week's interception by CB Chris McAlister. The Browns did stop the Raiders on the ensuing drive and held on for the win.

Frye Guy: QB Charlie Frye was 22-of-32 fro 192 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions. He was sacked twice.

Run Reuben: RB Reuben Droughns rushed for 100 yards on 25 carries after missing last week with a bruised shoulder. Droughns had a fumble returned for a touchdown.

Special Play: The Browns special teams were special on their returns as Josh Cribbs had kickoff returns of 65  and 55 yards. PR Dennis Northcutt had a 58-yard return to set up a score.

Big Play Jones: S Sean Jones continued to make plays as he picked off QB Andrew Walter with 17 seconds left in the first quarter and returned the ball to the Raiders' 40.

Bodden Hurt: The Browns already thin secondary suffered an ankle injury to their best healthy cornerback as Leigh Bodden went down late in the first quarter covering WR Randy Moss on a deep pass play. He walked off the field with help from the training staff. Bodden returned on the next series, but then was taken to the locker room after the series.

Sack Attack: The Browns defense failed to hold the Raiders in the final minute of the first half as the Raiders moved down the field but LB Kamerion Wimbley flew up the middle and made a big sack on Walter to thwart the drive. Wimbley had another sack in the third quarter.  QB Charlie Frye was sacked by LB Derrick Burgess twice.

Phil Dirt: K Phil Dawson missed a 48-yard field goal attempt as he kicked it off the baseball infield. Earlier in his career, Dawson missed a field goal from the dirt surface early in the season before the dirt was re-sodded after the baseball season. Dawson connected on a 28-yard attempt, but was kicking from the grass. He would have attempted a 49-yard kick from the dirt in the third quarter, but the Browns elected to go for it on fourth down.

Turnovers: The Browns turned the ball over twice in the first quarter. RB Reuben Droughns fumbled, which was turned into a touchdown and QB Charlie Frye threw an interception late in the first quarter.

Joe's Back: WR Joe Jurevicius was suited up for the first time since the opening loss with the Saints. Jurevicius caught three passes for 22 yards, including a touchdown.
