Jim Brown Movie to Premiere Saturday

Spike Lee and Jim Brown, two iconic figures prone to tackling controversial subjects, have collaborated on <I>Jim Brown, All American</I>. The new documentary will premiere in Cleveland on Saturday, October 5th. Enclosed is information on the movie and the premiere provided by the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque.

JIM BROWN, SPIKE LEE COMING TO CLEVELAND SATURDAY, COTOBER 5, WITH LEE'S NEW FILM, "JIM BROWN: ALL AMERICAN:

JIM BROWN: ALL AMERICAN,  a new documentary feature by celebrated filmmaker Spike Lee, will receive a special, one-time Cleveland exclusive premiere screening at 7:30 pm on Saturday, October 5, at 7:30 pm at the Cleveland Museum of Art, 11150 East Boulevard in Unversity Circle.  Both Spike Lee and Jim Brown will attend the showing, and will answer audience questions after the film.

Jim Brown, Hall of Fame running Back who played for the Browns from 1957-1965 is one of the greatest athletes of the 20th centruy.  But beyond his prowess on the football field, Brown has been a movie star, activist, and icon.  Lee's 130-minute movie looks at each facet of Brown's life and career, including hsi much-publicized problems with women.  The documenatary includes dazzling football footage and film clips from some of Brown's best known movies.

Spike Lee is one of America's most prominent filmmakers, having directed DO THE RIGHT THING (1989) and MALCOLM X (1992) among many others.

Tickets are on sale now and can be pruchased in advance at the CMA ticket center by calling (216) 421-7350 or 1-888-CMA-0033.  Tickets for this special event are $15, $12 for Cinematheque and museum members.  The event will take place in the museum's Gartner Auditorium.  Seating is not reserved.
