The Browns are a little short-handed as they flew out to Oakland earlier this weekend. The team announced today that DB Gary Baxter, OL Isaac Sowells, and P Dave Zastudil did not accompany the team to California and will not play this weekend.
The three join LB Willie McGinest, who was already ruled OUT for the game and didn't travel with the team.
Neither Baxter or Zastudil are unexpected omissions. While the team has two players (Mike Adams and Brodney Pool) who were hobbled by injuries this week, Baxter is still not ready to play in a game as he continues his incredible comeback from petellar tears in both knees.
Zastudil will be replaced by Scott Player, after being spelled against Pittsburgh by P Paul Ernster. Zastudil has had back issues all pre-season, and probably wouldn't have been well-served by being forced to sit in a plane as it went across the country.
Sowells has been designated as unavailable due to personal issues, and wasn't likely to see much playing time in any event.
