Would Blackstock Go Inside?

The latest on the Browns pursuit of LB Darryl Blackstock, with details you won't find anywhere else!

UPDATE: A league source tells the OBR's John Taylor that Blackstock was waiting to see how the Travis LaBoy situation would play out before visiting Cleveland. It became apparent yesterday that LaBoy would explore options beyond Cleveland. On Monday evening, LaBoy decided to accept a multi-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals.

The agent for free agent linebacker Darryl Blackstock, Brad Blank, tells the Orange and Brown Report that the defensive free agent is tentavely scheduled to fly out of Arizona on Tuesday evening and will be in Cleveland late Tuesday/early Wednesday to work out and take a physical for the team.

Blank also informed the OBR his client has received interest from the Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins, as well as the Browns. Blank expressed the Arizona Cardinals are interested in resigning the free agent linebacker and remains an option at this time.

When looking at the option of Blackstock and the Browns, a team scout offered this evalution of the linebacker, "May be miscast as an OLB due to his questionable coverage skills and physical limitations. He played some inside at the collegiate level and he has the ability to excel inside, where his primary responsibility would be against the run."
