The Cleveland Browns organization may be floating around a bit while leadership positions are filled, but scouting activity continues even without GM Phil Savage in Cleveland.
The OBR has learned today that Cleveland Browns scouts were in attendance during today's Capital One bowl game between Georgia and Michigan State. Also in attendance were the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Carolina Panthers, Miami Dolphins and two scouts from Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs had to be impressed with the performance of junior QB Matthew Stafford of Georgia, who was nearly flawless in the second half and finished 20 of 31 passes for 250 yards.
The Browns, for their part, may have been looking closely at RB Javon Ringer, a highly touted tailback for Michigan State. Ringer was held by the stout Bulldog defense to just 47 yards on 20 carries.
