The Browns issued a press release this afternoon announcing their slate of meaningless exhibition games. The full press release appears below. Additionally, the NFL announced its national television schedule for the preseason; oddly enough, the Browns are nowhere to be found on the list.
BROWNS' 2009 PRESEASON OPPONENTS SET
The Cleveland Browns' four preseason opponents for 2009 were announced today. The team will open the schedule in week one when they travel to Green Bay to take on the Packers at venerable Lambeau Field. Home games at Cleveland Browns Stadium against the Detroit Lions and the defending AFC South champion Tennessee Titans will ensue, in weeks two and three, respectively. The Browns will then conclude their preseason slate at Soldier Field against the Chicago Bears. It will be the eighth year in a row in which the Browns and Lions have battled in the preseason, while the Bears now have been a preseason opponent of the Browns each year since 2004. Exact dates and times of the games will be announced in the near future.
