Exclusive: Browns Hot on the Trail of College LB

After cutting all three starters, The Cleveland Browns are hungry for linebackers who can help out. BerniesInsiders.com has learned that the team is very interested in a particular player, so much so that he is getting Dave Campo's personal attention. Tony Pauline gives us the scoop...

Last Monday, the 25th of February, we exclusively reported from the combine on the outstanding workout turned in by Chaun Thompson of West Texas A&M, a story we built upon earlier today. Now comes word that three teams are hot on his trail and spending significant time with the small school prospect.

The TFY Draft Preview learned Cleveland Brown defensive coordinator Dave Campo personally flew to Canyon, Texas this week and spent most of the day working out and interviewing Thompson, coming away very impressed. This is significant as the Browns are looking for quality and quantity at the linebacker position after several major roster moves last week.

We've also learned that another pair of teams who sent coaches to West Texas and have Thompson high on their draft board are the Buffalo Bills and Green Bay Packers.
