McKibben Named NFL Europe Player Of The Week

April 15 - Defensive end Josh McKibben, who was one of eight Tampa Bay players allocated to NFL Europe this spring, was named NFL Europe Defensive Player of the Week for his three-sack performance against the Berlin Thunder last week.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers allocated defensive end Josh McKibben to NFL Europe to play with the Rhein Fire this spring and on Thursday, he was one of three players named NFL Europe Player of the Week.

McKibben received NFL Europe Defensive Player of the Week honors after he recorded a team-high 10 tackles, three sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery against the Berlin Thunder last week.

The other two NFL Europe Players of the Week, running back Autry Denson (Offensive Player of the Week) and punter Tim Morgan (Special Teams Player of the Week), are both former Bucs.

Wide receiver Todd Elstrom, defensive tackle Buck Gurley, tackle Kyle Kipps, safety Than Merrill, linebacker Idris Price, cornerback James Rooths and center Jason Scukanec are the other seven Bucs currently playing over in NFL Europe.
