Bucs' QB Johnson Sacked At Home

July 24 - The Buccaneers will be without new starting QB Brad Johnson for the first few days of training camp due to a minor injury he sustained to his leg while moving furniture at his home in Tallahassee.

After suffering a minor leg injury while moving furniture at his Tallahassee home Tuesday, QB Brad Johnson will have to wait a few days to make his training camp debut.

The injury resulted in 15 stitches above his left knee, but did not damage any muscles or tendons.

"Everything is fine," Johnson said. "I am able to walk but because of where the stitches are, the doctors have told me that they do not want me to run until they dissolve."

The ramifications of Johnson's injury will heat up an already hot battle for the backup role between last year's starter, QB Shaun King, and ex-Charger QB Ryan Leaf. Both King and Leaf will receive more reps at camp in Johnson's absence.
