Bucs A.M. Camp Notes - 8/6

August 6 - The Buccaneers resumed practice on Monday morning after having Sunday off. The injury bug continued to plague Tampa Bay at practice. Find out which players were hurt and stood out in Monday morning's practice.

QUICK HITS: Here are some quick briefs on what took place on Monday morning at Bucs' training camp. JOE THEISMANN SIGHTING: Former Redskins' QB and ESPN commentator Joe Theismann was at Pepin-Rood Stadium this morning. He was scouting the Bucs for the Tampa Bay vs. Miami preseason game on August 13, which ESPN will be televising.

SLOPPY DAY FOR KEYSHAWN: Wide receiver had a very bad practice this morning. He appeared to jam a finger on a pass thrown by QB Brad Johnson and on several other plays, Keyshawn dropped catchable balls. It's probably safe to say Keyshawn will rebound.

BRAD IS BACK: QB Brad Johnson participated in individual drills last week, but this morning, he participated in team drills for the first time in training camp. Johnson threw the ball well and appears to have a good grasp on the offense.

MOVING ON UP: Punters Andrew Bayes and P Jason Malecki punted the ball much better in Monday morning's practice than all of last week. Malecki looked especially sharp, while Bayes had two punts blocked-one was by an unidentified player and the second by TE Todd Yoder.

BACK IN ACTION: Running back Rahib Abdullah returned to action in training camp on Monday morning after missing the first week of training camp for family related reasons. Wide receiver Frank Rice returned to practice as well after having some hamstring problems.

INJURY BUG CONTINUES TO PLAGUE TEAM: MLB Jamie Duncan (hamstring), WR Jacquez Green (hamstring) and QB Shaun King (shoulder) did not practice. King tried to warm up, but his shoulder felt uncomfortable and he sat out of practice. King was hurt in Saturday's scrimmage when DE Marcus Jones hit his arm during a pass rush.

"I tried to throw in the beginning," King said. "But it didn't feel comfortable."
