No Heart, No Pride, No Leadership

For the 2nd time in 4 weeks, the Bucs thoroughly embarrassed themselves on the field when they were blown out at home by the Ravens 48-17. While most of you try to figure out what went wrong, for me, the answer is quite simple. They don't care.

I'm over this deciphering of the Bucs each week and trying to figure out why they lose each game. I'm done. If they don't care enough to even put up a fight in front of the few fans they have left willing to pay thousands of dollars a year to go root on a loser, then why in the hell should I care when they end up losing?

This isn't new for the Bucs. They've been losing for years. You know that and I know that. Yet, here we all are debating the quarterback, the scheme, the decisions, the coaching, yet it's pretty apparent what this team misses the most.

The Bucs as an organization have no heart. They have no pride. They have no leadership from the top down. If they did, there is zero way that an NFL franchise would lose the way the Bucs lost to the Ravens and Falcons in the span of a month. It is nearly impossible if people within the walls of your facility cared.

Pardon the pun, but the Bucs are a captainless ship. Mike Glennon is not a leader. Vincent Jackson is not a leader. Lavonte David is not a leader. Gerald McCoy is not a leader. I didn't see one player willing to show the pride, heart, and intensity needed to have success in the NFL. The scary part is that I haven't seen that with the Buccaneers for a long time.

Those players I mentioned are good players, but perhaps we hype them up to be something they are not. Sure, McCoy and David are talented players, but where are the plays late in games to win games? Where are the plays impact leaders make?

As the score reached 21-0, 28-0, 35-0, and more, where was Gerald McCoy? Was he getting pissed? Was he beside himself for being the "leader" of this crap? Nope, he was helping Ravens players up off the field. I guess he takes on the mentality of his head coach. Sure, McCoy and some of the media will yuck it up in regards to someone complaining about him helping up players from the other team, but when you're losing 38-0 in your own house after being gone for 3 weeks, how about getting a little pissed and taking it out on the other team?

The Bucs offense doesn't need specific players or positions, and neither does the defense. What this "team" needs is a few mean SOBs that will their teams to wins. The Bucs need a Terrell Suggs or a Steve Smith. They need anger, they need intensity, they need to start giving a damn about the embarrassment they're placing on our city.

Trust me, if they don't start caring soon, the hardest of the hardcore fans won't care anymore either, but I guess that would just match the organization they cheer for.
