QUARTERBACK

I thought Josh McCown played brilliantly as a backup quarterback filling in for the regular starter. McCown is never going to take over and win a game. His final statistics might look decent with over 300 yards passing and 2 touchdowns, but the Bucs scored just 17 points against the league's worst defense.

QB GRADE: C

RUNNING BACKS

Bobby Rainey, Mike James, and Charles Sims were all decent in the game against the Falcons, but Sims' fumble hurts this grade. I expect Sims to get more and more carries through the rest of the season.

RB GRADE: C-

WIDE RECEIVERS/TIGHT ENDS

Mike Evans is turning into a star. Unlike players like Michael Clayton who faded after their rookie season, Evans is showing legitimate skill to become a legit go-to receiver for years to come. Vincent Jackson is still a playmaker on the other side. Despite his penalties, Austin Seferian-Jenkins made some nice plays in the pass game including a touchdown.

WR/TE GRADE: B+

OFFENSIVE LINE

It's obvious the Bucs aren't pleased with their offensive line, nor should they. Different combinations were being used throughout the game Sunday. I'd like to see rookie Kevin Pamphile playing more.

OL GRADE: D+

DEFENSIVE LINE

The defensive line was a joke on Sunday. The pass rush was worse than maybe it has ever been against one of the worst offensive lines in football. It's not all on Gerald McCoy, but damn it, the guy just signed a $100m contract. Time for an impact play.

DL GRADE: D-

LINEBACKERS

The linebackers for the Bucs just simply aren't making enough impact plays.

LB GRADE: D

DEFENSIVE BACKS

As soon as Alterraun Verner was ruled inactive for Sunday's game, we should have known it would be another rough game for the secondary. I'm also not getting the rotation at safety. If Dashon Goldson is not part of the Bucs longterm plans, he should not be on the field.

DB GRADE: D

SPECIAL TEAMS

Watching Michael Koenen punt is painfully embarrassing. Patrick Murray's field goal saves this grade a little bit.

SPECIAL TEAMS GRADE: D

COACHING

Coaching isn't saving this team this year. From now until the end of the season, it should be all about evaluating the roster for next season.

COACHING GRADE: C-
