Bucs Never Had a Shot Against the Lions

I knew the Bucs were out-matched heading into Sunday's game against the Lions, but I didn't think it would be that bad. The Bucs were thoroughly beat in ever phase of Sunday's 34-17 loss to the Lions in Detroit.

I knew the Bucs were out-matched heading into Sunday's game against the Lions, but I didn't think it would be that bad. The Bucs were thoroughly beat in ever phase of Sunday's 34-17 loss to the Lions in Detroit.

We saw the Lions physically beat the Bucs with our eyes on Sunday, but the stat sheet backs up what our eyes saw. The Lions were dominant in total yards (407-233), 3rd down efficiency on offense (7-15), 3rd down efficiency on defense (4-14), turnover margin (3-1), and time of possession (36:35-23:25). Sunday's game was won by the Lions in every way possible.

The Bucs offense managed just 15 1st downs on the day, compared to 22 by the Lions. Of the Bucs 15 1st downs, 4 came via penalty.

The Bucs have been a bad team and proved it again on Sunday. With the Raiders victory on Sunday, the Bucs now have the inside edge on the 1st overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.
