Two games to go in the season and the Buccaneers have the inside track in getting the 1st overall pick in next year's draft. The debate is already hot and heavy over what the Bucs options could be with that first pick, but for one former Bucs head coach, the decision is an easy one.
"I'm taking Marcus Mariota in a heartbeat and excited to have him," Tony Dungy said on the Dan Patrick Show this morning when asked if he was the Bucs and had the 1st pick.
Dungy would also go on to compare Marcus Mariota to Aaron Rodgers.
Get ready, the season is not even over yet and this talk has already begun. While Dungy, who has roots with Oregon through his son, endorses Marcus Mariota, I wonder if Derrick Brooks, with roots in Florida State, would endorse Jameis Winston. Remember the glowing review Gene Deckerhoff had for Jameis Winston as well. This should be fun!
The best part about the Buccaneers possibly having the 1st pick in the 2015 NFL Draft is that it will be the first time the Bucs will be relevant on the national landscape in the last 10 years.
