The Commish's Bucs-Packers Prediction

There is no way to sugar coat this. The Packers are extremely good, can score a lot of points quickly, and coming off a loss last week to the Bills. The Bucs are on a quest for the 1st overall pick in next year's draft and have struggled the entire 2014 season. Can the Bucs shock the world today? Here's my preview.

Just when you thought the Bucs defense might have been actually putting it together and getting better, they give up nearly 400 yards to the Panthers and their backup quarterback last week. The Bucs defense is ranked 25th in the NFL in yards and 26th in points given up per game (26.2). Gerald McCoy is out and the Bucs defense still has yet to put it together the way Lovie Smith said they would.

Here comes Aaron Rodgers and the Packers 6th ranked offense. Rodgers struggled last week, but has the best record after a loss of any quarterback since 1950. Rodgers and the potent weapons of Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb, along with the ground attack of Eddie Lacy could exploit what is actually a weak Bucs defense.

For Bucs fans clamoring for their team to draft an offensive lineman early in next year's draft, take a look at the Packers offensive line. The Packers O-line will dominate today and they only have one lineman (Bulaga) drafted in the 1st round, and he was a late 1st round pick.

Defensively for the Packers, today should not be much of a test. The Bucs have scored more than 17 points in just 3 games this season. Once the Bucs are behind by a substantial amount of points early in this game, the Bucs will abandon the run, and the Packers pass rushers will be able to pin their ears back. I look for big days from Julius Peppers and Clay Matthews. I also expect the Packers defense to get a score themselves today.

To cap it all off, despite the game being inside Raymond James Stadium, the Packers will have a home crowd in attendance. It will likely be one of the most embarrassing sights for the Bucs over the last 10 years, and that's saying something.

The Commish's Prediction: 38-20 Packers
