The Buccaneers had their chance to end up with the 1st overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. All they needed to do was lose to the Saints to secure that pick. The Bucs blew a 20-7 lead to the Saints to lose 23-20, and the Bucs end up with the 1st pick in the NFL Draft.
According to Chris Mortenson, the Titans are content with Zach Mettenberger and do not feel the urgency to use a high draft pick on a quarterback. While I would love to believe that, the fact is that the Titans selected Mettenberger in the 6th round of the 2013 draft and are in no means married to him. With the Bucs having the 1st overall pick, the Titans decision means nothing to them.
The Bucs can now decide between Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota as to which quarterback they want to be the leader of their franchise and hopefully get them out of the hole they've been in for more than a decade.
Bucs GM Jason Licht hinted on the Buccaneers Radio Network that him and Lovie Smith will be headed to a bowl game (Rose Bowl) potentially to see Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota square off against each other.
