Interviews seem to be ramping up for the Bucs with their search of an offensive coordinator. There were already reports that the Bucs would be interviewing Falcons offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter. It appears as if that wasn't the only interview they conducted on Friday.According to Alex Marvez of Fox Sports, the Buccaneers interviewed 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman in Los Angeles on Friday. Bucs officials were in town after attending last night's Rose Bowl that featured Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston.
Roman's run-first approach and physical offense would probably be attractive to Bucs head coach Lovie Smith.
Before anyone jumps to conclusion with Roman's name and the potential quarterback the Bucs could draft, it's important to remember the types of quarterbacks he has had. At Stanford, Roman was on an offensive staff that had Andrew Luck. Roman was also part of the Alex Smith resurrection with the 49ers before he had Colin Kaepernick. Roman's offense just needs a quarterback with some mobility, which both Winston and Mariota possess.
