Who Stays, Goes for Bucs at Quarterback?

With about a month until free agency gets underway, now is the perfect time to analyze the Bucs roster. Over the next month, we will go position by position on the Bucs current roster and tell you who we think stays and who we think goes for the 2015 season.

With about a month until free agency gets underway, now is the perfect time to analyze the Bucs roster. Over the next month, we will go position by position on the Bucs current roster and tell you who we think stays and who we think goes for the 2015 season.

Today we focus on the quarterbacks:

Josh McCown: I know he was bad in 2014 and costs over $5 million in cap room for 2015, but McCown can be a valuable commodity for the Bucs. Derrick Brooks recently stated that if the Bucs select Jameis Winston, they will need a strong support group around him. McCown can be an excellent backup quarterback and a veteran either Winston or Marcus Mariota can lean on.

Commish's Call: STAYS

Mike Glennon: Lovie Smith called him the Bucs future quarterback less than a year ago. Now the Bucs are slated to select a quarterback with the 1st pick of the 2015 NFL Draft. I think Glennon has some talent and can be serviceable, but if you're a team that can get potentially "special" play from the quarterback spot, you take that opportunity. With a weak quarterback market in free agency and the draft after Mariota/Winston, Glennon may have more significant value than he would in other off-seasons. He should be dealt to the highest bidder.

Commish's Call: GONE

Seth Lobato: My apologies for knowing nothing about Mr. Lobato? With that said, I think the Bucs can bring in another young quarterback to fill that role of practice squad QB.

Commish's Call: GONE
