BucMag.com Bucs MVP: Keyshawn Johnson

August 31 - Despite an embarrassing 36-7 loss to Atlanta to close the preseason, Tampa Bay did have one bright spot. The Bucs' starting offense came out in a two-minute, no-huddle attack and scored a touchdown on an 18-yard TD pass from Brad Johnson to Keyshawn Johnson, who is this week's BucMag.com Bucs MVP.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers suffered quite a loss at the hands of the Atlanta Falcons by a score of 36-7. But most of the damage done by the Dirty Birds was after Bucs wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson and Tampa Bay's starting offense left the game. After a five-catch, 37-yard performance against New England last week, Johnson hauled in three catches for 40 yards.

One of Johnson's catches against the Falcons went for a touchdown, which makes him this week's BucMag.com Bucs MVP. Johnson caught a pair of 11-yard strikes from Brad Johnson, including one where he bulled past a defender for five extra yards to make a first down. When KJ hauled in his 18-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter, it was the first time that legendary Buccaneers broadcaster Gene Deckerhoff could utter the new catch phrase, "Johnson and Johnson."

So far in the preseason, Johnson and Johnson have hooked up eight times for 67 yards and the lone score at Atlanta. But after not making a single reception that counted (he had one that was negated due to a penalty) in the first two preseason games, Keyshawn is on a roll.
