Bucs Among Teams Interested in Bulaga

The Bucs need help along their offensive line and might be targeting the top offensive tackle in free agency.

The Bucs seem to be interested in a lot of players early on in the tampering portion of free agency. As they have in the past, the expectation will be that the Bucs move swiftly to start free agency for their top targets. With a glaring need along their offensive line, one of the Bucs top targets might just be the top offensive tackle available.

Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Sentinal-Journal reports that the Bucs, along with the Jaguars and Redskins, are showing the most interest in Packers offensive tackle Bryan Bulaga.

Bulaga is a former 1st round selection by the Packers, and perhaps more importantly, only 25 years old. Silverstein is reporting that Bulaga is looking for a salary in the range of $7-$8 million per season.

While Bulaga is the top offensive tackle available, he is limited to the right side. Bulaga's shorter arms limit him to that side. If the Bucs are indeed hoping to attain Bulaga's services, that might mean the Bucs feel confident in Demar Dotson at left tackle. A signing of Bulaga would also put the Bucs in position to not be desperate for an offensive tackle in the NFL Draft, freeing them up for other positions early on.

Players can officially sign with teams on Tuesday at 4:00 EST.
