Marcus Mariota and his Oregon class drew an impressive crowd at their Pro Day on Thursday with representatives from all teams across the NFL attending. Along with Bucs general manager Jason Licht, all eyes were on Mariota with Tennessee's GM Ruston Webster, Jets' GM Mike Maccagnan, and Washington's GM Scot McCloughan in attendance, according to the Washington Post.
Mariota finished Pro Day going 60 for 65 with all throws under center, according to Andrew Siciliano. Several reports confirm that Mariota's misses resulted from a dropped ball, just missed balls, and a couple of overthrows when going deep. In an unusual choice, Mariota called huddles and said he did so to, "go through and communicate what was expected and give some guys rest, allow them to come back together and break a huddle. The dynamics of it help keep it flowing well."
Mariota said he, "sat down with the Buccaneers as well as the Eagles" and finished the day by meeting with the Titans. Critical of his own performance, Mariota said he, "thought it went OK," especially after shaking off what he described as appropriate "butterflies."
According to the Tampa Bay Times, Mariota will be meeting with the Bucs in Tampa on Monday with a private workout taking place in April. Jameis Winston's Pro Day will take place on March 31.
