It might be the middle of May, but it was still a busy week of Bucs related news.We had the war of words between Bobby Bowden and Lovie Smith, along with the announcement of two new members into the Bucs' Ring of Honor. The Buccaneers even made to key additions that might ultimately make their final roster.
The biggest story of the week was that for the first time the Buccaneers would be inducting two names into their Ring of Honor in one season. Both Mike Alstott and Doug Williams are among the most recognizable names in franchise history.
After calling Jameis Winston an "embarrassment" and then being misrepresented on the Paul Finebaum Show, Bobby Bowden was then targeted by Bucs head coach Lovie Smith. Smith called Bowden's comments "disappointing." Lovie went on to say that "when you're part of a family, you don't do that."
By having the worst record in 2014, the Bucs not only got the 1st pick in the draft, but they get the 1st waiver claim all off-season. They took advantage of that this week by claiming both safety DJ Swearinger and linebacker Khaseem Greene. Both player could end up on the Bucs final roster, and Swearinger could push for a starting position.
