When the NFLPA released their list of Top 50 names for future NFL marketability back in January, Bucs rookie quarterback Jameis Winston was No. 8. The players association was on to something.
Per SI.com, jersey sales for Winston are second in the entire league. In first is Tennessee Titans rookie Marcus Mariota and behind them in third place is New England’s Tom Brady. The report does state the numbers are specific to NFLShop.com sales.
Some of the other notable quarterbacks in the Top 10 are Seattle’s Russell Wilson fourth, Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers ninth, and Denver’s Peyton Manning 10th. Oh, and for those interested, Philadelphia’s Tim Tebow is 15th.
The most marketable players will always be atop the list for sales. Since this is based solely off of the league’s own online store, it would be interesting to see exactly where Winston is in overall jerseys sold.
