Bucs Complete Practice Squad By Signing Thomas

September 5 – Tampa Bay added the fifth and final player to their practice squad on Wednesday by signing former G/C Eric Thomas.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed C/G Eric Thomas to their practice squad on Wednesday. The signing of Thomas now completes their five-man practice squad.

The Bucs' five-man practice squad is made up of Thomas, DT DeVone Claybrooks, C/G Leon Hires, CB Corey Ivy and TE Mike Roberg.

Thomas originally signed with Tampa Bay on August 15 after Pro Bowl C Jeff Christy suffered a sprained MCL. The Buccaneers then released Thomas on August 27.

The Buccaneers have filled their practice squad with players who can add depth at some of the thinner positions on the team. Head coach Tony Dungy also indicated the team could possibly activate C/G Leon Hires on the 53-man roster against Dallas on Sunday if Christy is not able to play.
