WATCH: Bucs Players Who Need a Fast Start

In this video, we discuss three players who need to make a good first impression in their first game with the Bucs.

Tonight, the Buccaneers play in their first preseason game of the 2015 season. As kickoff happens, last season's dreadful performance will be a distant memory as the Bucs embark on a new journey with new hope at quarterback in Jameis Winston. There will also be a number of new names looking to make a good first impression in their first preseason game with the team.

While most of the focus will be on Jameis Winston, and rightfully so, the Bucs 2nd pick in the 2015 draft also has some pressure on him. Donovan Smith has to prove he can be reliable as he tries to protect the blindside of the Buccaneers biggest investment in years. A slow start could lead to some people already starting to waiver on the rookie left tackle. It's important for both Smith and his quarterback that he starts fast in the first preseason game.

On defense, the Bucs have a couple of players who need to make good first impressions. Bruce Carter came over from the Cowboys this off-season and is already a leader in the middle of the Bucs defense. The best way to lead is to be on the field and performing at a high level. In the backend of the defense, DJ Swearinger needs to show he's much more than just a big hitter.
