Bucs Should Consider Trading Away These Players

The full team of writers for BucsBlitz.com team up to provide their own lists of players the Buccaneers should consider trading away.

Mike Glennon - I think this is pretty obvious and expected. When the Bucs claimed QB Ryan Griffin off of waivers, I figured it would only be a matter of time before Glennon was dealt. With so many top QBs going down to injuries early on this season, the time to trade Glennon may already be here.

Doug Martin - Martin is in the final year of his rookie contract and splitting time with 2nd year back Charles Sims. Actually, Sims was on the field for 30 plays in Sunday's loss to the Texans, while Martin was only in for 29 plays. If the Bucs are slowly fading Martin out, it would behoove them to trade him and get something in return.

Alterraun Verner - Hell, Lovie Smith even said the other day that Verner had slid down the depth chart. That was obvious by him only playing in 29 of 90 defensive plays on Sunday. Verner counts $4.25 million against the Bucs cap this year, but that raises to $6.75 million in 2016 and $6.5 million in 2017. (contract numbers from overthecap.com)

Doug Martin - With Martin becoming a UFA at season’s end, the team would be better off trading him now and getting something in return as he has performed well.

Logan Mankins - Yes he is a captain and a veteran. But a veteran and a captain committing penalties and underperforming.

Evan Smith - From slow shotgun snaps to getting beat, we’ve already seen the grass greener on the other side with newcomer Joe Hawley taking over at center.
