Are we finally talking about Vincent Jackson?
Dirk Koetter said at Wednesday's NFL Coaches Breakfast that he doesn't believe Vincent Jackson is "anywhere close to being done."
I’m ecstatic that this is the thinking at One Buc Place. Jackson missed six games last season-his first time missing a game since 2010! Vjax is ready for this season, and here's why you should be as well:
"I am very excited about the upcoming season. We have the players, coaches, and amazing fan base to reach the postseason and more," Vincent told me in a correspondence shortly after his new coach's comments on Wednesday. "Lots of work to do, but it's time for the Bucs to get over the hump!"
At 33, some might think Jackson is slowing. I don’t. His targets are down, but that is to be expected when he is playing with Mike Evans. His efficiency improved from 2014 by averaging 8.76 yards per target after 7.06 the season before and 7.65 in 2013.
We should all hope that Vincent Jackson can play until he’s 43. When you factor in his tremendous charity work in the community, he’s a tremendous asset on and off the field. Plus, given his fondness for Game of Thrones, we could use someone to discuss with us whether or not Jon Snow is really dead.
