Bucs Blitz NFL Draft Focus: Defensive Ends

Leading up to Thursday night and the NFL Draft, we breakdown the Bucs' needs and the players to remember at that position on draft weekend.

Bucs Need at Defensive End: 4 out of 5

When a team struggles to produce good sack numbers, it's natural for fans and media to point to defensive end. I actually think the Bucs defensive end position is deeper than defensive tackle. I do think that if the right defensive end is available, they should take that player. Unfortunately, this draft is not very deep at defensive end, so there is a lot of risk there.

5 Names to Remember on Draft Weekend:

Joey Bosa | Ohio State | 1st Round
Think Jared Allen or Michael Bennett in their prime.

Shaq Lawson/Kevin Dodd | Clemson | 1st Round
Lawson has more experience and production. Dodd's ceiling may be higher and he uses his hands much better. I don't think a Clemson DE will be a very popular pick in Tampa.

Noah Spence | Eastern Kentucky | 2nd Round
Like it or not, Spence's drug issues of the past should still be a concern. It's not pot. Ecstasy is serious stuff. He's a good pass rusher, but lacks elite burst.

Bronson Kaufusi | BYU | 3rd Round
Kaufusi has an excellent frame, long arms, and uses his hands well. He's an underrated prospect in this draft.

James Cowser | Southern Utah | 5th Round
Cowser can be a nice depth piece late in this draft who will work hard, contribute on special teams, and use his non-stop motor to help on defense.

Other Bucs Blitz NFL Draft Focuses:
