“That looks like Vincent Jackson” is what I said to myself as I was walking by Fergs Live just before the Lighting beat the Red Wings to advance to the Eastern Conference Final last week. And It was! Bucs WR Vincent Jackson was posted up in the parking lot spreading the gospel about his new Lightning lid.
Earlier that day, I saw Vincent tweet about some “sick Lightning Lids” that would be available at Fergs. I had no idea Vincent Jackson would ACTUALLY be selling them.
I freaking love the hat. I have been looking for a Lightning hat for years and this caught my eye. Plus, how I could not get behind something that my main man Vjax is behind? I kept asking him if these hats are really his. He insisted they were, but somehow I thought he was messing with me. He wasn’t. Jackson owns a distribution arm of a company called ICONZ. His arm specializes in custom hats for artists and athletes such as DJ Skee, Talib Kwali, Method Man, SOJA to name a few. They will be selling these “sick lids” at Fergs Live throughout the hockey playoffs and online at lacerheadwear.com. Vincent told me he hopes to have these hats in Amalie Arena next year.
$40 later and I am the owner of a Vincent Jackson autographed Lightning hat. Everyone seems totally flummoxed that a Buccaneer would sign a Lightning Hat. Hopefully this clears up the confusion.
Can I talk for a minute about the look on my face? It was hot and I panicked trying to get a selfie. I am not good at these things. Who has time to think about their dumb face when you’re in the presence of greatness? NOT ME.
